Why Early Diabetes Cuts Your Life Short—and How to Fight Back

Don't wait too long to take care of your health..

According to these results (see link below for the study), people who are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at a younger age don't live nearly as long as those who are diagnosed later in life.

every decade of earlier diagnosis was associated with 3-4 years of lower life expectancy. people who develop diabetes in their 30s die on average 14 years earlier than those that get diagnosed in their 50s.

How can you prevent type 2 diabetes?? You guessed it.... EXERCISE!

Being sedentary and having low muscle mass are 2 things that set you on a path destined for disease. In fact, your muscles can single handedly protect you from diabetes, if you let them. Muscle has an amazing capability to take in excess glucose, even WITHOUT the presence of insulin (which in a nutshell is the main process that becomes dysregulated in type 2 diabetes). This is called "insulin independent glucose disposal", and it is unique to the muscle. The only thing is, you have to WORK your muscles in order for that to happen.

So get out there and do the work! Your future self will thank you!
